lIQUOR LICENCE APPLICATION & rENEWALS

A liquor sales licence may be issued to allow the sale and service of alcohol to the public for on-site consumption. This includes premises such as bars, restaurants, lounges, night clubs, etc. There are no restrictions in the LLA on the type of business that can apply for a Liquor Sales Licence.

Licensees are able to select a two or four-year term duration, when applying or renewing licences. A renewal application cannot be completed earlier than 60 days before the expiry date. If you let your license lapse you will have to apply for a new license. LLCO offers automatic renewal reminders for our clients.

Liquor license amendments

We are available to walk you through any amendments made to the licence. I.e. Name change, Changes to Licensed Areas, Removing a Condition off your license, Temporary Extension, Closing a Business, etc.

LIQUOR LICENCE TRANSFER

All liquor sales licences are issued to individuals, business partnerships or corporations, for operation at a specific location. The owner – as licensed with the AGCO – is responsible for the ongoing operation of the licence.

Changes in ownership (commonly referred to as licence transfers) must be approved by the AGCO. An application must be submitted to AGCO before the change is made.  LLCO is experienced in handling Licence transfers.

SPECIAL OCCASION PERMITS

A Special Occasion Permit (SOP) permit, allows for the sale and service of alcohol on special occasions, such as cash bars at weddings or private receptions, as well as larger scale events that are open to the public, such as charity fundraisers.

A SOP is required any time alcohol is offered for sale anywhere other than in a licensed establishment (such as a bar or restaurant) or a private place (such as a private office or home).

A permit may be issued for the following types of events: Private Event, Public Event, Tailgate Events and Industry Promotional Events. Failure to secure the right alcohol permits can lead to an event being shut down. Contact LLCO to help you execute your event without any hiccups.

Liquor delivery license

A licence to deliver liquor allows for the delivery of liquor purchased from the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO), Brewer’s Retail Inc. (The Beer Store), an authorized grocery store that sells beer, wine or cider or a manufacturer’s on-site or off-site retail store to individuals, for a fee.

Licence holders are not selling liquor – they are acting as an agent for another person who is legally entitled to purchase liquor.

Licensees may operate the service as their primary business, or in conjunction with other compatible services, such as a taxi, courier or grocery delivery business.  However, note that if the licence to deliver liquor is held directly or indirectly by an authorized grocery store selling beer, wine or cider, the licensee cannot purchase alcohol from that grocery store

olg lottery retailer application

Store owners that sell lottery products on behalf of the OLG and/or sell break open tickets on behalf of a charitable lottery licence require a Seller license from AGCO. They also require a retailer agreement from OLG. We can simplify this complicated process by applying on behalf of you.
